  • 694b688: 2016-12-01 -0800 Workaround for intermittent failure in img_width_attribute_intrinsic_width_a.html.
This test previously used smiling.png as the image reference. The OSMesa rasterizer occasionally has a very small difference (1-2 pixels off by 1/255) when rendering this reftest. Instead, change to use green.png which doesn't suffer from this inaccuracy during bilinear sampling and upscaling.

  • 0eb7d65: 2017-10-11 -0500 Limit visited cascade for reparenting
The specialized cascade flow in `stylist::compute_style_with_inputs` (used with reparenting) currently computes all properties for visited styles, but we only need visited-dependent properties. This adds the cascade flag to reduce the work to visited-dependent properties only, like we do for the regular cascade flow. MozReview-Commit-ID: FGCj6GPnQOB

  • d3e4d29: 2014-12-03 -0800 Fixed #4170 - Incremental reflow wasn't being aggressive enough when nodes get reparented.
When inserting a node that was already dirtied, the dirtying logic would short circuit: "This node is already dirty? Great! Then its parents must be HAS_DIRTY_DESCENDANTS, too! Let's skip that step." This isn't appropriate when nodes move around the tree. In that case, the node may be marked HAS_CHANGED, but ancestors may not yet have the HAS_DIRTY_DESCENDANTS flag set. This patch adds a `content_and_heritage_changed` hook in the document, to deal with these cases appropriately.

  • 3025a26: 2018-04-02 +1000 FontContext: Cache data fetched from the cache thread
Before this change, if we needed to create a Font which we've already created, but at a new size, then we'd fetch the FontTemplateInfo again. If the bytes of the font are held in memory, then this could be expensive as we need to pass those bytes over IPC.

(Speculation: might be something to do with shaping?) Therefore I've had to mark a bunch of these tests failing on mac. === css/css-text/i18n/css3-text-line-break-baspglwj-* === Some of these previously passed on Mac due to a missing glyph. But we do not find a suitable fallback font on Linux, so it is still failing on that platform. === css/css-text/word-break/word-break-break-all-007.html === This was previously passing on Mac, but only because missing character glyphs were rendered. Now that a fallback font is able to be found, it (correctly) fails. === mozilla/tests/css/font_fallback_* === These are new tests added in this commit. 01 and 02 are marked failing on Linux because the builders don't have the appropriate fonts installed (that will be a follow-up). Fix build errors from rebase FontTemplateDescriptor can no longer just derive(Hash). We need to implement it on each component part, because the components now generally wrap floats, which do not impl Hash because of NaN. However in this case we know that we won't have a NaN, so it is safe to manually impl Hash.">...)

  • 6d93098: 2017-09-13 -0400 align selectors's features in geckolib and stylo_tests
Gecko would like to turn on the stylo layout tests (tests/unit/stylo) in Gecko CI. The plan for doing this is to add the tests as a dev-dependency of Gecko's main Rust library, from which `cargo test` can be run in the usual fashion. Doing this creates problems for normal development, because the stylo tests need the `selectors` crate to be compiled with `gecko_like_types`, whereas the `geckolib` crate does not. So if we compile `geckolib` in a non-test build configuration, the `selectors` crate is compiled without `gecko_like_types`...but then if we compile `geckolib` in a test build configuration, cargo will evict the previous rlib for the `selectors` crate and replace it with a `selectors` compiled with gecko_like_types. And then compiling `geckolib` in a non-test configuration repeats the process, and so forth. Needless to say, this is highly annoying behavior. It is due to a bug in cargo: https://github.com/rust-lang/cargo/issues/3923 but it's not known when that bug will get fixed. In the meantime, we can just make sure that geckolib's `selectors` is compiled with the same features as the `selectors` crate in the stylo tests.

  • d7a5f22: 2017-10-18 +0800 stylo: Avoid using InterpolateMatrix as a fallback for matched transform function pair.
In the current implementation, if there is any interpolation error in a matched transform function pair, we fall-back to use InterpolateMatrix unconditionally. However, the error could be caused by: 1. mismatched transform function pair 2. matched transform function pair within at least one undecomposable matrix. Using InterpolateMatrix for case 1 makes sense, however, using InterpolateMatrix for case 2 does not. According to the spec, we should just report error for case 2, and let the caller do the fallback procedure. Using InterpolateMatrix for case 2 will go through more unnecessary code path, and produce more memory usage and calculation cost, which should be avoidable. In this patch, we add an extra pass to check if a transform function pair have matched operations in advance. With this information, we can easily tell whether the interpolation error in a equal-length transform function pair is caused by case 1 or case 2. So, we can avoid the unnecessary cost. • b666718: 2017-10-12 -0400 Correctly test CSSStyleRule.style.
Remove the assert_readonly test and add one to verify that assigning to CSSStyleRule.style correctly forwards to CSSStyleRule.style.cssText. We currently test for whether CSSStyleRule.style is read-only by trying to assign to it; however, the spec has it as actually: interface CSSStyleRule : CSSRule { ... [SameObject, PutForwards=cssText] readonly attribute CSSStyleDeclaration style; }; See: https://drafts.csswg.org/cssom/ The `PutForwards=cssText` means that assigning to CSSStyleRule.style should actually assign to style.cssText.

  • 4d14f1e: 2016-11-02 +0100 layout/context: Wrap `image_cache_thread` in a `Mutex<>` as well
`SharedLayoutContext.image_cache_thread` didn't get the `Mutex<>` treatment along with all the other channels in there, because `ipc-channel::Sender` is presently inherently `Sync`. I believe this to be an implementation accident though, that should be rectified in the future -- not something users should actually rely on... Note that sharing senders (be it `mpsc` or `ipc-channel`) in is probably not a good idea anyway: just cloning them -- and letting them handle the sharing internally -- should be both simpler and cheaper. But right now that's how things are handled here; so let's go with the flow...

  • 543703e: 2015-10-06 +0200 Move Stylesheet loading and ownership from the layout task into HTML elements(). Additionally, the quirks mode stylesheet (just as the user and user agent stylesheets a couple of commits ago), is implemented as a lazy static, loaded once per process and shared between all documents. This all has various nice consequences: - Stylesheet loading becomes a non-blocking operation. - Stylesheets are removed when the element they're associated with is removed from the document. - It'll be possible to implement the CSSOM APIs that require direct access to the stylesheets (i.e., ~ all of them). - Various subtle correctness issues are fixed. One piece of interesting follow-up work would be to move parsing of external stylesheets to the resource task, too. Right now, it happens in the link element once loading is complete, so blocks the script task. Moving it to the resource task would probably be fairly straight-forward as it doesn't require access to any external state.">...)

  • 75eb94a: 2018-09-24 -0400 Unify the task source and task canceller API
I moved away from the `Window` struct all the logic to handle task sources, into a new struct called `TaskManager`. In a happy world, I'd be able to just have there two functions, of the types: ```rust fn task_source(&self, name: TaskSourceName) -> Box fn task_source_with_canceller(&self, name: TaskSourceName) -> (Box, TaskSourceCanceller) ``` And not so much duplicated code. However, because TaskSource can't be a trait object (because it has generic type parameters), that's not possible. Instead, I decided to reduce duplicated logic through macros. For reasons[1], I have to pass both the name of the function with canceller and the name of the function without, as I'm not able to concatenate them in the macro itself. I could probably use `concat_idents` to create both types already defined and reduce the amount of arguments by one, but that macro is nightly only. At the same time, not being able to declare macros inside `impl` forces me to pass `self` as an argument. All this makes this solution more verbose than it would be ideally. It does reduce duplication, but it doesn't reduce the size of the file. [1](https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues/29599)
